On the Field
Football brings out competitive energy, and that is part of what makes it great. Nobody wants a team full of players who do not care about winning. But competitive does not mean disrespectful, and intensity is never an excuse for bad behavior.
TVFC expects every member to play hard, play fair, and treat teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials with respect, even in the heat of the moment. A hard hit within the rules is part of the game. Trash talk that crosses the line, arguing with officials over every call, or turning on a teammate after a mistake is not. The way this club competes says just as much about who we are as the final score does. Other teams, other veterans, and other families are watching how TVFC carries itself, and that impression sticks.
Good sportsmanship also sets the tone for younger or newer members joining the club. When experienced players model respect and composure, it becomes the standard everyone else follows. When they do not, that spreads just as fast.

The club does not stop mattering the moment the final whistle blows. How members act at community events, around sponsors, at fundraisers, and even on social media reflects directly on TVFC as a whole.

If you have not seen the full policy yet, reach out to your committee or the Discipline Committee to get a copy. If a situation comes up and you are not sure where the line is, ask before you act, not after. The committee would always rather answer a question upfront than deal with the fallout of a bad decision later.
Leading by Example
Discipline is not only enforced from the top down. It is carried by every member who chooses to hold the line even when nobody is watching. Veteran members and team leaders set the tone for newer members joining the club, whether they mean to or not. The habits and attitude they model become the culture everyone else absorbs.
